Most people use make up to enhance and beautify. Other uses of make up include covering up scars and deformities that can be cured. Although it is of the same purpose as a beauty aid, this use helps build up the self esteem and confidence of an individual.
Make up is also need in certain jobs and professions mostly centered in the show business industry. Being under harsh lights and the constant glare of camera flashes has prompted many show business personalities to arm themselves with make up. Since their appearance is one of their most valuable assets, they must make every endeavor to appear as the fans want them to appear.
Other use of make up that has just recently surfaced is as sun protection. Many manufacturers of beauty products and cosmetics have accommodated the need of most people to protect themselves and their skin from the rays of the sun. This is a great development because before, sun protection and make up were quite difficult to blend together.
Today cosmetics play a great role in everyday life and the industry generates crores of income in products. It has become an everyday tool to make men and women more presentable.
